AC&NT Research Unit

The Advanced Control and Network Technology (AC&NT) Research Unit in the University of Glamorgan in the UK specialises in advanced control theory, technology and applications. The unit is engaged in fundamental theoretical research as well as industrial applications, covering the themes of networked control systems, fuel cell modelling and control, nonlinear identification and control, and multiobjective optimal control. The research unit has been in existence for over 15 years and has collaborated with both industry and research groups in the UK, Europe and the world. Since the last RAE exercise (2001) the members of the unit have published more than 80 journal papers, 100 conference papers and contributed to 4 books. Since 2004, the unit has received over ?1.5M research funding from European Framework VI, EPSRC, HEFCW, DTI, WDA, Energy Saving Trust, Royal Society, Leverhulme Trust and industrial companies. Recently, the unit has developed the Networked Control System Lab (NCSLab) on the Internet. We are the organiser of the 4th IEEE International Conference on Networking, Sensing and Control to be held in London in 2007. Now, the unit, consisting of 1 professor, 1 reader, 2 senior lecturers, 5 research fellows and 6 PhD students, has widespread expertise in both control theory and industrial applications.
